Treatment of Cobweb
    #524787 - 01/18/02 04:43 PM (23 years, 30 days ago)

I tried not stterilizing the casing for the first time. Instead I added some h202 water to it and let it seep in. Well I seem to have got cobweb on top of the casings. So I followed the advice of some of you, and I sprayed them pretty heavily with h2o2 water and then i made some water with baking soda and sprayed this on. Now they are pretty wet on the top. I left them exposed on a table with some sunlight on them as this is recommended too.
Question: would you leave them out and allow some water to evaporate? And allow the mycelium to get fluffy again. Their isnt any humidity except nmy heavy spraying. I figure they dont need humidity at this point, but rather to lose some water off the top.

I always sterlize my casing material in the microwave for 15 minutes with saran wrap over it.
This is really a post for the contamination section but good luck getting a reply there. It is like the Hinterland of this site...
