Now How could I screw this up

It seems as though I have somehow managed to screw up what is supposed to be a foolproof method of cultivating mushrooms... I bought four myco bags and injected them each with 2.5 cc's of ecuadorian spores... I keep them in the box they were sent in at 81-87 degrees... I did that 2 weeks ago.. This monday I injected them with the other syringe since nothing seemed to be happening... Each time I heated the needle to red hot and allowed them to cool for 5 minutes before injecting the bags which i covered up with tape.. Today I noticed some very light greenish mold growing in one bag and possibly in one of the other bags, the other two bags are barren... Can anybody tell me if I am doing anything wrong... I have never done anything like this before so I assume I did something wrong...

Either your syringe solution or the substrate was not sterile. Try innoculating a home-made substrate and see if the same contam appears. Get the vendor to replace the syringes if you're sure they're the cause, usually they'll do it free of charge.

Possibly bad syringes with the barren bags. Mold infection is probably from leakage around the injection site during injection or soon after since it took so long to appear at those temps. Mold contaminated bags or syringes would be obvious within a week of incubation.

What is the source of the syringes and if they are Spore Works syringes, what lot number? We like to track bad batches if possible. Email psilocyber for replacements.
