Great guide man! I need to try this. I make a mason jar with Polyfill in the air hole. if very small pieces of polyfill fall into the liquid can the Liquid Culture still be a success? I can't really tell but i see very tiny string like pieces in my liquid which i assume may be a few pieces of the poly.

Sorry if his has been asked before but is there ever a problem with the standard syringe tip being blocked by mycelium as you try to suck it out? Is it worth looking for wider bore syringes?

There is only ALWAYS a problem with this. I hate it. I've been looking into 14ga or 12ga blunt tip luer lock needles for this reason.

Yep, I just shoot some back in and suck up again quickly. It seems to get cut up on the needle. I have sharpened some of my needles by rubbing them on fine sand paper.

LOL yeah I only did it twice...it's not something I go recommending to everyone but I probably wouldn't have gotten into bulk near like I did if it wasn't for this tek.

long story short, in 2012 I put all my eggs into the otto lc basket, and came up short. I quit cultivation for over 2 years because I never could get reliable results. half my cakes would mold over in the fc, the other half would push one flush then mold over. I didn't have much better success with pf-tek and making my own syringes, so my overall perception was that mush cult was just too much of a hassle.
then one fall day in 2014, I checked back in here and the first thread i read was pastys agar tek, then I immediately decided to try cult again.

Why would LC be better than just using a spore syringe?

It's already a live culture so it will grow faster than from spores since it skips the whole germination stage.
