I've done it too many times to count myself. It does work just fine. Though on occasion bacteria or yeast may be hiding.

Can you toss a colonized grain in the jar also?
And, can you just add the water and honey in the jar and put in the pc at 15psi for 20minutes to speed things up?

Yes to both, but one of the rare times I got a contamination with a liquid culture was from inoculation with a colonized grain. Clone tissue or a core biopsy works well however, and I've had no troubles cloning using this method.

When sucking up the mycelium from the jar, should you use a syringe with or without the needle? I didn't think the mycelium would be able to be sucked through a needle tip?

You need a llarge Guage needle. Large so it doesn't clog and needle so you can flame sterilize it. Though i personally pc my syringe with grain jars and just shoot it up

Cool. I have a honey LC that I inoculated with an enoki wedge a while ago and just picked up some 60cc syringes last weekend. I put some broken glass in the LC jar so it should be easy enough to break up.

Broken glass or marbles work great. I seldom put anything in it. I just swirl it. I love seeing all the lc love that's coming around. I've been a fan for over a decade. A year ago on here everyone was so scared of it.

It can take up to 2+ weeks for germination to take place.

The usual case is a few days to germinate, I've never had one take longer than a week to get started.
