Aw shit! This is the tek 3 years that got me started with grain after doing 2 successful brf grows. I actually still have some pics of the jars that were knocked up with it...just to say that it can/does work.

and here's 1 tub that came from that..

I kept a single LC jar in the fridge for about 8 months and it was still going strong. I only made 2 in total, so I can't really vouch too much for them, but this kind of brings back memories  :awesomenod:

Anyways, I wouldn't recommend this method to any new grower...I think I just got lucky.

Thanks for posting your pics. You didnt get lucky, it works fine. The people saying LC is really dodgy havent actually had any experience with it and are just expressing their opinions.

LC's do work, but they also fail more often than any other technique from what I have seen. Agar to LC I guess would give you a higher success rate, but seems kind of counterproductive and I haven't touched LC since going to agar, so

Of course agar is better, but in my experience I had virtually zero issues with LC. All open air, all from prints or clone tissue.

I never posted my opinion.....I posted facts......can you tell if your LC is 100% clean just by looking at it?

That was my entire argument. Regaurdless of your answer, I am done here......sorry for being the voice of reason.

well, I agree with bodhi. new growers always/most of the times go spores to LC with their poor sterile techniques,
and if you wanna do things right you dont have time to wait for the LC to colonize, test it and then go inoculate and save a couple days on the master. my g2g sessions will be far ahead anyway!

they can be good for species that's harder to do than cubes, or species that dont like shaking that well.

g2g is where it's at for me. LI seems titillating but I cant find a proper blender for it. (yet).

Have you seen the updated blender options in my LI tek?

LI is made with non nutritional sterilised water and is use immediately after it is made. So it doesn't give contams a chance to grow.

The agar people always fail to mention the hidden trich problem that can take shut you down just as hard as a bad lc.  365, frank and others have had problems with this.  If they had done LC then went to agar, the hidden trich would not have gone undetected, not to the trained eye.  LC -> "agar tested" FTW.

Can you toss a colonized grain in the jar also?

And, can you just add the water and honey in the jar and put in the pc at 15psi for 20minutes to speed things up?

You don't know that.....now sometimes shit can happen, but this does not help your argument.....you would still need agar to verify the cleanliness of the LC. There is just no way to visually tell if an LC is 100% clean or not.

I am not saying that LCs suck, or this tek, just that when you compare it to agar, agar is far superior. And when dealing with "beginners", spores are by far the worst way to make an LC.

Unless trich grows slowly, which is unheard of afaik, they would be able to catch it.

I already explained that it's easy to see trich in LC, no microscope needed, if you have experience.

Name me a contam that doesn't grow way faster than mycelium in lc (excluding bacteria).

It doesn't matter how fast contams grow(that is not even the argument here)...........some of them you just cannot see with the naked eye in LC....trained or untrained.

This is what makes LC inferior to agar......

why do you ask him to exclude bacteria? and yeast? why do you think agar can have hidden ninja contams that only wait for fresh air to erupt
but LC's dont have that?

your arguments doesnt hold up invitro... and maybe this isn't the place for this petty bickering, you'll feel kinda dumb a year from now when you know better and have shat all over this TC's thread with your poorly thought through opinions..
