Same here on the few fails I've had. What are your PC time/temps?
I start off by rapidly boiling 300 ml water for 30 minutes. Then I add 15ml vanilla kayro to my 300ml water while boiling hot. I already have my pc warmed up on low heat. I then load my kayro lc in my pc. Once it has reached 15 psi I leave it for 10 minutes then let it cool naturally not to crack the jar. If I let it go for 15 it starts to turn a brown color where it has caramelized. When preparing lc I half to stand right there and be sure not to overdo it, it is easy for that to happen.

Good to know you can get a clear cook at 15 PSI. I used to run @ 10 PSI for 15 minutes, no problems but bumped it up to 20 minutes because it's closer to the holy grail of 250F for 20 minutes. The cook does seem a little more amber than the 15 minute cook, but it colonizes at the same speed. I'll try your method next time and see how it looks.

What do you mean when you say "first one I used worked just as said"? Worked how? Did your innoculant just begin to grow in the liquid or have you taken a grow all the way to fruition using this liquid culture method?

What G2G tek do you think is the easiest and that you would recommend for a beginner?
I'm debating on LC and G2G I think I might just try both now that I'm expanding from BRF cakes and into the world of grains and monotubs.. Figure the more I try (and fail) the better I end up at the end, although avoided the failures because of knowledge and not luck is just as good too. That's just me taking me knowledge from gardening into myco.
I love this site, I have done nothing but read the last week on it and I can't believe I forgot about this place and mycology ever since I took my tanks down in a move ten years ago. glad to be back and I am having a blast learning here.
Thanks for the great method for LC, this truely is an accessable way for a newbie like myself to start!

Take colonized jar, hit, roll, and shake it to break up the colonized grain, without opening itits tough. You could use your thigh as a slamming surface. Once grains are loose in th colonized jar, loosen sterilized jars. Go by one at a time and dump as much as you want in the jar (the more the bette, while still leaving space in that to shake) from the colonized jar into the sterile new grain jar. Do it fast. Open the new jar only for a split second as you dump around two tablespoons full into each. I like doing this be ause no tools are used to introduce contams. It's been done on kitchen counters dozens of times with little to no contam. Just wipe down the surface well

I have used it as a referencepoint, on some occasions, but the way I do it differs a little from the way TL does it.
First off the lid to the master jar stays off, he likes to put it back on after every jar, which is fine, but I see it as a couple seconds I can save.
I hold the master jar in my right hand and pour it the same way he does, but I usually only use 1 hand to close the receiving jar...now sometimes I have to use 2 hands, but not always. Before I start IO loosen every jar lid almost completely, so i can twist it a little with my left hand, tilt it so I get the ring and the lid to pop off, pour the grains and seal it back...I can do 10 jars like this in about 5 minutes, once I get started.
Just small little differences to get to the same outcome.

Hey mate, it's done when there is enough mycelium to suck up and inoculate! Start shaking it a little after you have noticed growth, it will start to slow down after aruond two weeks, which is a good time to put it in the fridge.

I'm attempting this right now, I did some brf cakes earlier this week but I want to try anything right now as a first time grower to see what works and what doesn't. Thanks OP for the knowledge.
