It been about 3 days and i haven't seen any growth. Is this a problem or should i just wait a few more day? or start over? and the jar looks about the same color as the tek.
Hey you couldn't have followed every step AND have added sucrose (table sugar) because that isn't mentioned in the tek.. If your going to try to experiment with alternative procedures to the tek you should at least do one exactly like written up by OP (original poster) and then do one with standard white sugar, then also one with sugar in the raw, and perhaps agave nectar and then take pictures of each and then post your results of which LC turned out the best/didn't contaminate .. :shrugs:
To the best of my knowledge white sugar does Not perform well, if at all, as far as Liquid cultures are concerned.. Sugar in the Raw does perform pretty well Here is a thread on the matter. But, this honey LC tek is great-- I would recommend using this one as honey is one of humanities oldest known natural preservatives .... And because honey is fucking awsome!

Very new to the forums. Thank you for having me had some spore solution leftover in a syringe so I'm giving this a shot. Awesome tek and very excited to see the outcome. Thank you.

I have question regarding this tek. I wondering if it has contaminated. Its been roughly 12 hours since inoculation and there is a bunch of sediment at the bottom of the jar all amber in color. Is this bacteria or mold growth since it was so rapid?

Great tek.
One question. When you're all done and have added the spores, do you then put micropore tape on the hole or what? I don't really know if I should just use regular thick tape or micropore tape.

Great!! i finally did understand how to do it, no one else had putted like this, they all made it for people they already knew about it.. anyway i have a question. When its all colonized and ready to pull out some syringes, lets say they first 3 syringes can get in and touch the "water" but the rest cant reach the water anymore cause the water level is down, since i took some.. is there any way or something i can do like a tube or something so it connects to the syringe all the way down?? i have everything to do it and i think ill make it today but i have this question.. how am i going to do it... thanks in advanced..

I used this tek about 5 days ago and received some weird stuff on the bottom of the jar possibly sediment from the honey. The amount of sediment went down and when given its daily swirl the mixture became cloudy then would settle back down. I am having trouble distinguishing between mycelium and mold/bacteria. The amount of sediment is nearly doubled and when given its daily swirl its chunky now instead of cloudy. The sediment looks almost like an amber colored cloud at the bottom of the jar.
12 hours later

5 days later

Daily swirl

Tell me what you think all growth is amber in color, Possibly due to the honey.

The sediment is not a problem.
The liquid should clear as growth continues.
Good luck,
JD

Just in case it was unclear to anyone, cause my fellow shroomer made this mistake, as soon as you see the growth stop or as soon as you DONT see a change in the amount of MYC throw the jar in the fridge, or will go RANCID and be totally useless.

I had not heard this before.
I usually end up storing LCs in the fridge anyway.
Take care,
JD
