Wonderfully easy tec, thankyou _OttO_
Gave this a go yesterday.
3 jars. 1,GT spores, 2,Sub spores, 3,small bit of agar with Sub myc.
The agar jar might be shit but I thought I'd try anyway.

Nice to ear Olive! I have had no worries using agar in the past, it worked out well.
Just FYI, I did this tek originally to show that a pc is not necessary... but if you own a pressure cooker, always use that instead of just steam sterilising.
Also, I think the initial suggestion of a tablespoon of honey per 250mls LC was heavy handed, a teaspoon is plenty. Also, 100% pure maple syrup is a good substitute for honey, or even better - half honey, half maple - the best of both worlds...

_OttO_ for the tek
I got a pressure cooker but I did'nt use it for this.
I put a 'squirt' of honey in each jar
This is how they look at day 10

My first LC's
Golden Teacher spores
Subaeruginosa sprores
Subaeruginosa on agar

Inoculated some brf test jars yesterday, I hope they work

First off, this is a very old thread. Second, I'm really glad that this tek is still being discovered. I used this tek 2+ years ago and loved it!! it worked wonders for me, it's so simple yet still works marvelously.

Actually come to think of it, What is the longest one of these LC's has lasted for yall? and under what conditions were they? (i.e. been in fridge whole time, traveled cross country in a car during the Summer, sitting on shelf for a year, etc)?
I think that honey doubles as an anti-microbial to some degree here, but perhaps there's not enough in the water to have too much of an effect.
I've had a little jar of some honey LC prepared, thanks to this tek, almost 2 years ago that was refrigerated the first ~7 months, then was just in a frigid basement for 3 months, and now has been in a closet since then.. As of 3-4 months ago, to my households astonishment, it had finished colonizing WBS and successfully spawned and fruited

I have literally seen TCs refuse to answer legitimate questions because they can't look at the screen due to avatars like yours. Although, it reminds of the Garden of Cosmic Speculation.

Wow, If that's true then thanks for letting me know.. Honestly I hadn't really though about it that way before, although I guess that other one was a little 'overstimulating'.. The last thing I'm trying to do is overstimulate, and hopefully this one is a little less abrasive ....
But yeah, about honey.. It has some amazing preservative properties, as seen here (preservative), here (antibacterial), and also here (random honey properties) and I think it does an excellent job in LC's

I also have used 2 yr old liquid cultures with success... Stored in the fridge, a 1yr old culture should be fine, anything much past 1.5 years and I would be inclined to start a fresh one, with a new spore print.

Made eight liquid cultures using this method and they were ready to juice up some jars about a week from inoculation.

Nice simple tek. I just moved from the US to Ukraine, and find myself starting from scratch I cant yet speak well enough to find a lot that I need, I haven't had my passport translated yet so I cant p/u at the post office. Of course brought my spores, now they're burning a whole in my pocket.

This tek works wonders. Went from waiting 3 weeks for pf jars to colonize using spores to 100% in 8 days with this lc. Thanks for the help!

Yes. It is that easy. I ONLY use this tek when making my LC's. When I noc 'em up, it's only a 6 day window and I have 100% colonization. Thanks again OTTO for the knowledge. Peace!

I made an LC jar following every step but i decided to add table sugar (white sugar) on top of the honey (thought it was a good idea maybe it not? because white sugar is processed? maybe i should have used raw sugar or no sugar at all...). It been about 3 days and i haven't seen any growth. Is this a problem or should i just wait a few more day? or start over? and the jar looks about the same color as the tek.
