Hey Otto,

As I mentioned before, this is an awesome tek! So awesome that I did this tek myself and wrote a report of it on my website mushroompalace.com.
No worries, I did grant you all the honor by mentioning you at the beginning of the report. Hope this is okay.
You can read the report here:

Thanks

Hey mate, nice write up. Strange behaviour to ask if it's ok after you did it  - but in this instance it's fine, its not even my idea anyway - just a combination of other people's ideas, so it's all good. Hope it helps lots of people.

Only thing I can add is that when I wrote this I said a tablespoon, but I think a teaspoon of honey is a much better ratio. And when you do your 30 min boil with the foil on, you should probably instruct people to have a lid on the pot - you leave yours uncovered which probably works out regardless.

Lastly, you should add something about being careful not the wet the micropore tape used to cover the hole when you instruct people to swirl their cultures.

Cool site mate, spread the love. :mushroom2:

I'm trying your great tek at the moment but I can't get a temperature higher then 27C(80.6F) should this be a problem?

Would it be possible to chip some mycelium away from a completed BRF cake with sterilised tweezers and throw it in the LC as a way to inoculate it? Or is this asking for contaminants?

Thanks, I'll try that once. It's just that I'm clumsy to scrape to spores of a print properly, this seems easier, and it might be faster too.

if u fail at ur lc's at first dont give up! it took me a few times to get it right.

good luck and if u need any help shoot me a :pm:

Bumping for noobness...
I did this LC this morning. I put TWO pieces of micropore tape over the single hole I used to inoculate with. Used 3 cc's of Acadian Coast from SS. Then covered with foil wiped down with RA. I tweaked your recipe with a pinch of BRF, and used mineral water.
They are sitting on a shelf at 75 degrees in ambient light. Do any of the long-timers see anything wrong with what I did?
This was such a noob friendly thread I decided to use it for my first grow.
Feel free to respond. Thanks.
oops. almost forgot...a piece of rice got in when I added the BRF. But that was BEFORE I finished sterilizing. Is that gonna be a problem?

I used this, it worked wonders. this was the first thing i ever grew
in my life it was simple and ready in 10 days. whats left in the pic is less than 40% of its original size after I used what I know now to be way too much lc for 4 quart jars however they got pretty much solid in 8 days.

When you say solid in 8 days after a 10 day waiting period on your LC, do you mean after colonizing your BRF (I'm assuming that's what you used) it only took 8 days before they were ready to birth?
I'm very new. Please excuse.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread (yes I read it all)

Just made up a couple of jars to turn into LCs for GT and Canbo spores I've got.  It seems like the way to extend what I've got.

Time will tell.  I'll post pics as soon as there's anything to see

Great Tek Otto! Glad someone decided to make an easy step by step guide for LC. It seems like most forum teks for LC are drawn out with tons of steps and make it seem so intimidating. I do have one question though. You inject 2cc of spores into the jar for the LC and then when its ready you said to inject 2cc at each injection site. When you say injection site, do you mean 2cc of LC in each (4) holes on my jars? Being 8cc of LC per jar? I always worry about putting too much spores/LC. Reply would be great. Again thanks for the tek!
