Wow awesome tek! Im a first timer waiting on my first coir verm 50/50 casing to flush (Got my first ever pins a couple days ago and literally danced around the room!!) A buddy from work was nice enough to give me a colonized qt jar of Rye Berries which i used to do a small casing and spawn to 4 more qr jars of WBS Im stoked to try this out, thanks for taking the time to make a detailed guide for us new to the hobby!!

Hi guys,
I've tried this method using some pink oyster spawn but I'm not too sure if its gone quite as planned, my jars of spawn about 2 or 3 weeks after innoculating have really little signs of mycelium growth.
From 10ml of spawn I injected into 5 jars, they've been in a warmish place but not quite 30deg C. There are some pictures of the better jars below:

I'm pretty sure that I did everything else as instructed on the site, I shook the jars now and then and placed them in a dark place etc... I'm wondering now whether its worth trying to syringe the mycelium up and doing the BRF tek or if I would need to start again as I might not have enough spawn to use.
Thanks for any help.

I'm in day 3 and have some very nice growth going on. I live in Mass. and given that the house gets down to 68d at night, I put the jar in a brown lunch bag on top of my PC CPU. Keeps it toasty.

Just knocked up my honey water. Time for the countdown.
So guys are you just leaving the foil over the jar, with the hole open in the lid?

That is correct. When you want to suck up some LC, first put your finger on the dot and shake the culture vigorously to break up the mycelium, and then let this settle again for 10 minutes. The broken up mycelium will be floating on the surface of the liquid...
Then just give it a swirl to get it evenly distributed in the liquid, gently lift back the foil to expose the hole and suck up some LC with a sterile syringe, then replace the foil. Try not to tear the foil too much, so you can seal it back up fairly well when you're finished.

I have used a two and-a-half year old ATL#7 LC that was stored in the fridge and grew healthily. In the past, cubensis LC has been fine still after 10 months...
So as long as you stall it in the fridge when its ready, and keep it in the fridge, it should be perfectly ok for at least 8 or more months.

Knocked mine up last night, and just found a couple of stringy mycelium floaties tonight. Fingers crossed.

Hello, i have have done LC for Psilocybe Cubensis, and the mycelium was very dense and thick and i tgrew very fast. Now i'm trying with Pan Cyans, and its almost 2 weeks since i inoculated, and there is very little mycelium (i'm not sure it's mycelium) and its also very sparse. So what are your experiences with Pan Cyans and LC? Oh and i used water and honey.
And i know it's not the right topic to ask, but is it ok to use mold remover (with cluor and varikina) for desinfecting the air?
Thanks

Just out of interest, does anyone have photos of contaminated LC? I've got no idea what to look for.

There are several visual signs of a contaminated LC, such as, cloudy medium after inocualtion, stringy mycelium, and any discoloration of medium or mycelium, to name a few.
With LC's, it's just best to assume they're all contaminated until test substrates or mediums have been inoculated with the culture and have had 5 days to come back contamination free.

Fair enough, cheers. The main reason I ask is because my LC isn't crystal clear to begin with. How cloudy is cloudy, if it's not a mater of "how long is a piece of string"?

It's ok if it starts cloudy. But if it starts clear and then clouds up, it's bad.

Liquid mediums shouldn't be cloudy after sterilization IMO. Mine never are.
To tell if your liquid medium is to cloudy, hold your medium up to a wall in a lighted room. Look through the medium focusing on what's behind it. If you can see clearly what's behind your liquid medium then your medium is presumably clean and is safe to go a head and inoculate.
Healthy mycelium and dead mycelium have 2 very distinct looks inside of the liquid medium. Healthy mycleium'll resemble rhizomorphic spheres, were as dead mycelium appears way to stringy to be mistaken for healthy mycelium and will not get any bigger.

I've had two LC's from this tek going for a little over two weeks now and there is no sign of mycelium growth. There is sediment at the bottom of the jar that I stir every so often, but I'm pretty sure that it isn't mycelium (and it definitely isn't expanding).
Should I go ahead and toss these and give it another shot?

Yes, you should toss that old medium you have and begin again.
2 weeks is way too long for there to be no signs of colonization. Either your spores were bunk or you contaminated your liquid medium upon inoculation due to sub par sterile technique.
