casing not pinning 2 weeks in fc.

i had a good friend tell me that it takes about 2-3 weeks for pinning to initiate once put in the fc. so i dropped the temp down 10 degrees and through it into the chamber.
that was 2 weeks ago, mycelium still looks good, all its doing is colonizing more. the temp is at 65 degrees because i incubated it at 75 degrees.
someone else told me to up the temp and it would start fruiting- but if it wont fruit after 2 weeks at 65, and all thats happening is colonization, then how will bringing the temp back up help?
wont the mycelium just grow even more at higher temps?
or is my problem truely the temp?
or does it really take 2-3 for pinning to initiate? because the dude that told me to up the temp, also told me that pinning only takes about 3-4 DAYS to initiate?
can someone clear some things up for me? it would be much apreciated. BTW this is a pf/casing tek with peat, RH -80%.
thanks!

i think you need to up your RH to >90% and yeah i dont think your temp should be lowered that much.. i dont think you need to do it in relation to the incubation temp you had.. room temp should be fine
and it took me 18 days on my first grow to show pins

from expierence with a friend, casing can take anywhere from a week to 2 weeks.

Up your temp to 70 - 75. 65 is a litte too cold

Razman, I'm going to have to disagree with you. He's got a casing, so 80% RH is perfectly fine. Above 90% is much too high for a casing.

thnx for all the info guys. yea i read alot of posts in that thread the other day.
i took the casing out the other day to examine a little bit, im a fairly positve that coweb has found its way all over it. there were few parts with Just cobweb mold that i took out promptly.
but it looks like it could have spread onto alot of the fresh myceliem growth. i cant quite tell on alot of it, because it is towards the center of the patches.
i would imagine contamination will withold the casing from fruiting correct?
another question. obviously i didnt sterilize well enough, how do you guys sterilize your casing mix.
i plopped my 50/50 mix into a some jars a pressure coooked it for about an hour, but i dont think that worked well enough because there was quite abit of contam, a couple different kinds that ive scooped out as much as possible.
thanks again everyone

i use just microwave my casing mix on high for 10 minutes, stirring once half-way through with a alcohol-sterilized spoon. i've never had any of casings get contaminated (except after many flushes). PC'ing for an hour is probally more reliable than my microwave method, and i doubt that your problem lies there. you wouldn't have any pictures of your casing do you? a decent quality pic would help tremendously for everyone to see if there are any visible problems.

yea ive got some pictures. there has been a large amount of contam.
after removing almost 50% of the mix, i kicked the heat up, and 3 days later (now) i can see another 2-3 more kinds of contam making its way through the rest of the mix.
so i just said fuk it. ive got another cake im going to chop up today, and i jus PCed the mix.
can the contam come from my cakes. ive noticed that going all the way with pftek, mushrooms will still grow even though you can see obvious contams on the cakes.
so if a cake was contaminate it would probably spread alot faster on the casing mix.
i still wouldnt imagine that contamination would stop it from pinning.
in the beginning when i first put the pan in the FC it was all nice fresh myc. and it was good for about a week, then after a week of airing it all the time, and the bacteria in the air, the mix started getting contaminated, and little by litte i was taking spots out.
now its been in the fc for almost 3 weeks, and there is mad contam everwhere, all over the myc.
is this why it never pinned? bacteria and contam on the inside of the casing where i couldnt see- then after a week it started showing at the top.
there is still nice uninfected myc. but ive pretty much given up, and im not taking anymore contaminated areas out- its no use. lol
any input would be good tho heres some pics.

1ST Pic was after a week of being in the FC
2nd and 3rd pic were taken today. you can see the nice myc but again contam is breaking out.

again, any input on how to lower contam, and actually get some pinning would be good lol. thnx
