seems to be that you a.) dont let it sit by itself long enough, and instead look at it every ten mins to see if something is happening ;-P If im right, then just give it a few days by itself before checking and rechecking.
b.)if colonisation works great, but your getting no pins, its either that your CO2 level is too high, or that the temps havent fallen enough. Once the casing is ready to pin it should drop to around 23 degrees celcius (roughly room temp)
c.) Dont drench the casing, pins die from that. "drench" it before you go into the pinning stage, and then only a few fine misting squirts a day. Never onto pins though! (They can be tiny, and you cannot see them at first)
d.)although i personally have never had this problem, ive read several times, that some people put the Mycelium into te fridge for a night (search "cold shock"), in order to "show the Mycelium that its getting cold outside"
hope i could help!
EDIT: I just reread your post, and noticed, that you say the mycelium is going blue, when you mist. You possibly already have overlay, which means that the mycelium gets hard on top of the casing, and cannot form anymore pins. Just touch a bit at the side, and see if it is hard or still soft, and then report back. :-)

I had the same problem man, and I just had my pins form. What setup are you using for your FC? That might be your problem too! Like the other two guys said, FAE is critical.

Bluing is usually always a result of dryness if not bruising. Raise RH to 90-95% during pinning also a cold shock wouldn't hurt too much either (6-8hrs.) Remember myc thrives in nearly saturated environments and does quite well in liquid cultures so live and learn. GL

I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

blueing, is also caused by oxidation.... are you using Hydrogen Peroxide in your water solution... if so you might have use'd too much.
i would sprinkle a light casing layer over that bad boy, and place back in the FC if it's overlayed.

i am trying to revive this casing so i am going to several techs at the same so this is how it will go down 1., lighly scrape top layer clean fork remove weaked or dead myc(deep scatch) but not to deep 2-4mm 2. recase 50/50 bottom, thin out top layer by using coffe grinder 2- 4 pumps for coarse verm 1/4in 50/50 on top. Using full size course verm for the top layer was just to dam high 3.water to field sat.(hyphae)see casing faq 4.reincubate until myc pokes through again( 5.cold shock 12-24hrs. 6.put in fc for pinning I will post the results good or bad I dont care if it takes a little longer doind it this way i am not going anyhwere
