how to heat a martha style setup.
    #4709092 - 09/25/05 09:39 AM (18 years, 4 months ago)

I think the best way to heat a Martha style setup is use a heating blanket of some sort. If it's big enough rap it around the greenhouse. If not, like mine, I just place it under my greenhouse and have the heat rise through out the greenhouse.

My temps are at a steady 73.4F give or take a couple degrees.

Why do you want to heat your martha when it's purpose is for fruiting?

apparently if they live in a climate where temperatures are far below that of the desired fruiting conditions.

If you really need the heat, then why don't you try hanging one of those lights with the metal dome around it like they use for reptile terrariums on a hook over the martha. that would probably be enough to get the temp up a couple of degrees.

You know, this is all my fault. I read your original post very quickly and thought you were asking if using a heating blanket was OK to heat up your Martha and that your temps were already at around 74F. I didn't realize that you were ALREADY using it to maintain that temp, which is why I asked why you were heating it up in the first place and then suggested the light. My Bad

LOL, it's all good. I was confused on why the hell you were asking me in the first place LOL

I might be stupid here, but why not get a small space heater at wally world for 10 bucks....and some 6inch dryer vent tubing. Attach the vent to the output of the small heater and run it into the martha. (don't put it inside because of humidity and condensation.)
