Affects of liquid organic fert on mycellium

Hey Guys,
Just wondering if anyone knew what affect liquid fertilizers may have on mushroom mycellium?
I noted the liquid ferts I use (Maxicrop & Charlie-Carp), contain some high urea levels (4.6%). I've had no problems using these products on my compost heaps thus far, however I was under the impression the Urea will break down to ammonia - which should kill the mycellium?
I use these products weekly or fortnightly to help speed the breakdown of my composted material, which works quite well for me, why my mushrooms keep coming out is somewhat confusing though.
My hypothesis is that when watered into the pile, the majority of the nutrient settles at the base, the mycellium seems to stick near the top of the pile, so thusly it's not exposed to the Ammonia from the broken down Urea?
Any thoughts?

I'm wondering the same thing. I have some all natural organic root igniter. I might just do a tub with some and try it out.

They would have bad effects. We do not use fertilizers. Skip them altogether.

It is not needed. In the book "introductory mycology" it states that mushrooms, as decomposers, have the ability to create the nutrients that they need, they can even create vitamins. They create organic fert, not use it.

The only "fertilizer" you can use would be gypsum. But even the use of that is highly debated at this time.

Gypsum is a mineral, not a nutrient. Calcium, and sulfate to be exact. Gypsum aids in over all robustness of fruit.
Mushrooms like nitrogen. That's one of the reasons why various manures (some are hotter than others), and the sole purpose for the addition of coffee grounds as bulk substrate materials.

Ok I was off a bit. It's a mineral with the nutrient calcium in it. If I'm not mistaken can't they only handle up to about 4% nitrogen?
