How to estimate humidity

Hey yall , my second flush just weighed in at 1gram. I am hoping to upgrade (by a lot) on my next go round. Finally got the temp issue settled ( steady 75f ) but after spending $ on a heater I dont have the funds left for a humidity guage. I need a way to roughly guage humidity by condensation on the sides of my aquarium (for example at near 100 can I even see inside?) I got perlite and a bubbler going but with the pump I have the bubbler is probably changing the air at least 2 time per hour and I need to be sure I am not blowing all my humidity out my vent holes. Can anyone help me out? I REALY want to get at least one descent flush for all my hard work.

Your asking us to guess. Just like your doing right now. If you have alot of condensation inside the aquarium you are probably in the high 90's....to 100% humidity. But if you want to know for sure.....Get a humidity guage. Go to Radio Shack and break out a few bucks. If you really can't afford one.....ask someone for a loan or wait. A good Radio Shack one is the Remote Thermo-Hygrometer Sensor....model # 63-1031 Hope your little friends pop up and say hello.

Hey Roadkill, Does that probe measure humidity or does the whole gauge have to be inside? Any idea what it list for? Thanks! WakingUpLate

This unit is a digital unit....The whole thing goes in the incubator or fruiting chamber. It was made for putting outside...Its part of a weather station. Reads Temps and humidity. Seems to work very accurate. It was listed for $19.99 up until the first of the year. Now its like $24.99 and up to $29.99.

As long as there is condensation on the inside walls of your terrarium your humidity should be 90+. Just don't soak the place, a light misting is all that is needed.
