Diagnose me (pics) UPDATED
    #5214314 - 01/23/06 03:14 PM (18 years, 2 months ago)

EDIT:

Okay people. Deeefinately something wrong. Take a good look at that black spot in the pic. Right now it is about twice as big and is literally caving in. It doesnt smell or anything, but is real soft and just gross looking. A couple other mushrooms dont look good, either. What should I do? My cake looks fine, and again there is NO smell whatsoever...If I take these mushrooms off will it be ok? I'll put a pic up tomorrow when I'm sure it will be completely dead.

So yesterday I noticed that a few of my smaller pins had grey caps and looked almost dead...I thought maybe they were dead aborts or something. Then today I noticed that my nicest fattest mushroom was looking a little sick, and there was one more grey capped pin...

Black spot in the middle...

Grey dead looking pin

So tell me the hard truth. Are these mushrooms goners? What about the ones that don't look sick? And most important...what about the cake?....I hope I dont have to put 'er down : (

The gray one is just an abort; don't worry about it. You will almost always have some aborts.

It looks like you have less than optimum growing conditions, but your doing OK.

I most certainly do...wanted to just go cheap for my first grow...will definately upgrade on my next batch. What would you suggest doing, though? Are there any obvious problems related to humidity/temp that could cause the blackness on the big guy?
