 What 2 do with the WTC site?

EVERYONE is making a bid and putting their 2 cents worth in on what should happen to the largest pice of property to open up in Manhattan in more than 50 years. What should the 13 acre space be used for?
I would like to see 1 building. It would have the shape of a square with the open center design of the pentagon. It should from corner to corner cover the entire area that both buildings previously covered and would be the largest building ever built and they should make it one story taller than the WTC buildings.
In the center would be enough space for a large park where a monument could be made.

I like your idea of one building and a story taller. I just hope the site doesn't become a memorial by itself beause that would be a shame and against everything this country stands for. Prosperity and dillagence(sp) should be the message....either that or a 111 story middle finger facing the middle east..ha

I don't think they could rent out all that space unless they made some of it apartments. I always liked the architecture of the Chrysler and Empire State bldgs better than the twin monolithic towers that were there. They should just put a park there. 13 acres is not too shaby! Lots of bums could live in a park that size.

Given the circumstances anything is possible but a 13 acre park costs money to maintain and brings in no money... Something like that in the center of the most expensive property in the U.S. is un-imaginable.
I remember watching a thing on Japan and how people are paying 300,000 for a studio apartment with a comunity bathroom down the hall and no kitchen. A business guy took a hankercheif out of his pocket and put it on the ground and said that the space that occupied was worth over a million dollars in the area he was standing.
I think in the end the winners will be the people pushing for a museum. People are split 50/50 between office space and other things and the majority of the people against the office space idea are jumping on the bandwaggon for the museum idea surrounded by a park.

How about they build a new building named the " World Trade Center Complex" make it the largest building ever built with hydroponic farms in the basement, commercial buisinesses in the middle, and apartments on the top. Make it like 400 floors and have it's own nuclear reactor in the sub basement. It would be totally independant from the rest of society, and who would blow up such a marvelous creation? Anything else would be stupid. What do YOU> think>
