Add Rye to MEA or not? EMERGENCY

Should I add rye flour to my MEA recipe before I prepare the media or not? If so, whats the ratio? These isolates will be used to innoculate rye masters.

What you want to do is take some rye flour (half a hand full) and put it in a cup of pretty hot water. Stir for a while and then let the shit settle to the bottom(there will be stuff floating on the top layer, but who cares). Get some coffee filter papers and filter the shit until you see absolutely no chunks in it. Use 10-15% of this liquid in your solution. For example, if you make a total of 100 ml agar solution, 10-15 ml's of it should consist of that rye "extract."
You don't have to add rye to your agar mixture, but if you do the recovery time(the time it takes for the wedge to start growing on the rye berries) will be a lot faster.
