since my last post here i have enjoyed seeing my jars take off... now on day thirteen i see that most of them are 2/3 covered with mycelium, some with growth on the bottom....
also there is a considerable amount of condensation in the jars and the patches of mycelium are turning yellowish in the middle. does this indicate that i need to open them up, or take the tape off? i am keeping them around 80-85F (with the exception of once when i was out for a couple days and the temp within the rubbermaid tote i am keeping them in approached 95), and i have not noticed any water gathering on the bottoms of the jars.
are there any clues one can get from examining the way mycelium is forming? (e.g. how wispy it is, colour, etc)

any and all info is greatly appreciated... ... ..iago

take all your tape off of the holes and flip your jars upside down in your incubator. they will be done in about 4 or 5 more days.

what about the yellowing of the mycelium... it is occuring right at the innoculation sites, the oldest mycelium in the jar.

contam would happen on uncolonized substrate, right?

The yellow is normal for older myc.
