IS IT SAFE TO POST?

I'm paranoid by nature. I wonder if any popo look at these boards. Can they get my IP? Can they talk to my ISP and get my address and start watching my home? If I say anything incriminating in the boards could they use it against me if I ever go to trial (hope not). Do I worry too much?

a) Assume the answer to each of your questions is "yes". b) If somebody told you the answers to your questions were "no, it's perfectly safe!", would you believe them? Observe some of the other threads in this forum. Find some way of proxying/anonymizing your access to this site and any others that may be "iffy" (or, be like me, and anonymize them all so that certain ones don't stand out). CERTAINLY don't admit to any activity that implies you're looking for information to help you sell illegal substances. As others have said, it's likely those who watch this board silently wouldn't bother going after someone asking questions about a jar or two, but if you ask how to grow a pound of shrooms... (On another topic, I'm curious if the site admins monitor logs for .gov hits. I get them on my personal page and it's always fun to see when people from NASA read my spew...)

with a nice under message, you can say almost anything. like "HEY LOOK AT ME I OWN 58 METH LABS, HAHAHA!!" note my under message.

Just an FYI Read Shroomery disclaimer and privacy policy. They clearly state that if they are served with a legal order to do whatever, they will. Which they should be expected to... as any organization should be. Now say this happens... whatever agency will also serve them with a notice that they have privileged knowledge of an investigation, and that discussing anything about the legal order will be obstruction... a felony. Bad. This being said.. if there were feds watching this site, don't expect there to be a big notice one day saying "warning, we got served with a legal order to start monitoring IP's" It would just be done.. slowly... and over time. Until enough evidence is brought together to take a large cluster of people down in a coordinated raid. Across the nation... sound familiar? Remember Dec 11th? No? Someone on here knows what I'm talking about. Theoretically, this is possible. But what would the gov't gain from doing this? Well.. unfortunately the profits from terrariums on govt auction blocks are probably very low, as I would say 95% of us are not selling therefore no cash to be claimed. I highly doubt that there's any big coperations lining their pockets to make such an investigation cost effective. Whenever you post, just know that the possibility is there that you are talking right to a cop and that you're giving him a business card with your home address on it. While I don't think this is our govts idea of good use of funds, it could still be a nasty fuckjob if they just want to put a dent in sharing of knowledge. If it happened, people would be too scared to post or even read. Sweet dreams.
