Distro/production company start up. (employ yourself?)

Hey guys... its been an invigorating new year and ive been talking with my friends, 2-3 of us have many resources available to us and want to start a company for fun and experience..

Basically, we want to start a silkscreening operation and distro and perhaps print vinyl eventually. Basically a webbased mail order distribution site peddling some of our punk products.

kinda sounds silly...

We've got a professional silkscreener and his equipment to start out with, mad silk screening skills, a HUGE network of travel kids/internet-talk/friends/professional atheletes (mountain bikers + fruit booters + bands + artists) we know alot of people Printing and publishing zines on a variety of topics covering rape, abortion, feminism, radical, politics, green anarchy, DIY technologies, + spirituality.

We're talking about making band patches and conscious shirts (ala. microcosmpublishing.com) and basically just covering our costs by selling 3 or 4 patches for 2 bucks plus shipping and selling them at the local store and shows, and commissioning some bands we put on shows for to carry them around and sell them as merch plus soliciting the bands themselves to produce their merch at competitive prices and introducing it into a broader market.

Eventually if it builds revenue to expand into releasing european or bizare releases on vinyl, cd, or cassette/vhs/cdr - we would like to get an *office* space which perhaps could be DIY live in/hangout place...

There's actually a punk store in town (that i dont exactly agree with) but we're buddies and he's moving and will have a basement where we can set up and we can produce and expand upon his friends clothing line while selling out stuff and giving us space for furthur exposure.

Anyways, we're just loosely tying together ideas into an "objective" - so im kinda wondering about how to actualize this project off the ground beyond making some patches and networking..

I guess thats just what we'll do, start painting and printing and talking and writing.
