Stressing shrooms

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to stress shrooms to produce bigger and more potent yields. For example, irregular lighting cycles.

mushrooms aren't plants. lighting plays a minimal role. just used for direction of growth and one of the minor pinning triggers.

Some folks do bleach dunks to try and stress the mycelium into fruiting more.

Whether or not it actually works is arguable.
