that's way to subjective, but may work well enough to get a general idea, which i guess is what we really need, if we get enough general ideas through trial and error, over a period of time we would be honing in on the right supplements and concentrations.
could possible be more accurate if you used same clone and grew in liquid culture, then extracted alkaloids... but wouldn't necessarily be specific for psilos.

I agree that the eat and judge method is not the the greatest, but may be the only realistic solution. I think it is safe to say that no home growers have access to the equipment that is needed to find exacts amounts of psiloc(yb)in in their mushrooms.
The key to making the experiment work is making sure that you or anyone else that is taking the shrooms does not know which ones they are taking. The only person that will know is the person that you put in charge of contolling the experiment. Both doses must be exactly equal amounts. It should also be done with a group of friends so there is more than one opinion. For Example:
Dose one:
Person 1: Substrate Enhanced
Person 2: Normal
Person 3: Normal
Person 4: Substrate Enhanced
Dose two:
Person 1: Normal
Person 2: Substrate Enhanced
Person 3: Substrate Enhanced
Person 4: Normal
After both have been taken decide if one trip was stronger/better than the other or were they the same, do not let the other people that you tripped with know your opinion because it can infuence their decison, everyone write it down on a peice of paper or something before you tell eachother. Then you compare with what you ate and see if the stonger/better trips coincide with the Substrate Enhanced Shrooms.
If there is not a strong consensus on the more potent one, then the additives did not have much of a effect and can be determined ineffetive.
Enhanced substrate may give a better net yeild this should also be part of any data that is taken.

the hard part would be figuring out the ideal amount to add to the substrate. I'd imagine too much would be bad, but there's only one way to find out.
