Every action we take within this reality is an integral step of the eternal now's flow through its constant state of change. Perceived lack of love within a space? Become loving. Lack of interesting discussion? Spark it.

And "Stop Bitching, Start a Revolution" too.

I agree with you. I observe many who find it appropriate to complain and lament over things that don't go perfectly, or if something's missing or too plentiful. But complaining just stirs up negativity in the one complaining and in those around. It would be many times better to be whatever change they want.

However, just as a tree could not plug up a hole in a wall (unless it was a really, really, really big hole), not everyone is capable of being and doing certain things. One must follow their own Inner Nature.

What prevents one from being and doing certain things? Its dependant on the situation, for instance, someone who is without an arm in this moment could not throw a baseball as someone else could, and someone not born in the United States could not, as the laws currently state, become president.

There are "concrete" limitations in this sense (not truly concrete, as laws can be changed and medical technology advances :smirk:), and there are abstract ones. Someone who cannot be a professional singer because they become nervous and panic in front of crowds of strangers is not condemned to that fate simply because it is their nature. The mind can be changed as much as one allows it to be changed.

I guess I would simply seek clarification from you as to what one's "Inner Nature" is before I could continue.

I don't know if one's Inner Nature can be explained directly, so I'll try to do so more abstractly.

From the Tao of Pooh:

"Cottleston, Cottleston, Cottleston Pie,
A fly can't bird, but a bird can fly.
Ask me a riddle and I reply:
'Cottleston, Cottleston, Cottleston Pie.'

Cottleston, Cottleston, Cottleston Pie,
A fish can't whistle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply:
'Cottleston, Cottleston, Cottleston Pie.'

Cottleston, Cottleston, Cottleston Pie,
Why does a chicken, I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply,
'Cottleston, Cottleston, Cottleston Pie.'"

And then from Chuang-Tzu:

"Hui-tse said to Chuang-tse, 'I have a large tree which no carpenter can cut into lumber. Its branches and trunk are crooked and tough, covered with bumps and depressions. No builder would turn his head to look at it. Your teachings are the same - useless, without value. Therefore, no one pays attention to them.'

'As you know,' Chuang-tse replied, 'a cat is very skilled at capturing its prey. Crouching low, it can leap in any direction, pursuing whatever it is after. but when its attention is focused on such things, it can be easily caught with a net. On the other hand, a huge yak is not easily caught or overcome. It stands like a stone, or a cloud in the sky. But for all its strength, it cannot catch a mouse.

'You complain that your tree is not valuable as lumber. But you could make use of the shade it provides, rest under its sheltering branches, and stroll beneath it, admiring its character and appearance. Since it would not be endangered by an axe, what could threaten its existence? It is useless to you only because you want to make it into something else and do not use it in its proper way."

I call it healing your world with your world.

you see the injury(ies) and find healing relations from every (any) facet you can perceive.

this pushes more love into the perception part of consciousness, and the being can navigate most harmoniously.

A child who was neglected all his life, is unable to express love, or maybe communicate properly. His brain is wired this way.

Similiarly, a mentally retarded individual will have a hard time expressing his views.

Training and dedication are necessary for change. It is not instant, nor is it comfortable. It requires you to go above your years of programming, and has nothing to do with Ghandi.

careful when you say wired this way
you are actually talking about an associative process

this associative process makes weighted decisions, not wired ones.
you are right to suggest that shifting the weight takes dedication.

Ghandi was a great example of one who had made deliberate and dedicated progress.

I do not understand how it necessary follows that a child who was neglected is unable to express love. The brain has nothing to directly do with this anyways, its a question of the mind, and the mind is a dynamic process that does not have solid paths of operation, only habits and trends that are completely open to change as long as they are addressed.

Quote:

Whether or not a mentally retarted individual has views to express in the first place is to be questioned. The essence of my statement is that one must actively pursue actions that will bring forth desired change. One does not alter the temperature of the Sun by changing the style of clothing that one wears - my statement is not proclaiming that all change is possible or that it can occur as the result of any given action.

Quote:

Training and dedication are necessary for change. It is not instant, nor is it comfortable.

Change is instant and comfortable in instances in which it can be  manifeted instantly and in a comfortable manner. The only necessities for change are the required actions for such change to be produced. I find shutting off my lamp in this room to be as comfortable and instantaneous as standing up and rotating the switch. Someone without any arms will not find using their teeth to switch off the lamp to be nearly as comfortable, on the other hand.

What reason to change than for improvement?

If improvement were instantaneous and comfortable, then everybody would be very skilled at everything.

Of course, I could become lazy neglect myself (which is what neglect teaches), and never improve. That is both instaneous and comfortable.

Change can occur for any reason, one can seek to change for any reason, and most change happens by its own accord, without any reason at all. Does the water flow in a river to improve itself?

Quote:

Your logic does not make sense here. One can very easily improve various aspects of themselves and their actions in instantaneous and comfortable manners - I can improve my driving time by quite comfortably and instantaneously steeping down on the pedal more (I'm noticing considerable improvement in this regard, personally ). Let us not pretend that every action and improvement requires an equal amount of effort.

Quote:

And for some people it is quite difficult to instantly become unproductive.

I don't understand that which you are attempting to convey.

I'm simply speaking in a general sense here. For instance, If I choose to walk into my living room, I have initated a change that influences the rest of my life. If one seeks to have reality present itself in a certain manner, the most effective way to ensure its happening is to interact with reality in the proper manner to produce that change, if it is something that you can exercise influence over.

Basic stuff like that, which everyone should hopefully grasp, but they aren't consciously aware of the deep ramifications of as they act.
