This will be the thread where dimitri describes his compost. And anybody who has experience with it can chime in as well.
Whats in it, whats the composting method (indoor steam 7 day method, outdoor short/long composting etc).
Whats the shipping moisture content.
Is it pasteurized, sterilized?
thanx

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

I will do the best I can with the description dimitri is out for a bit.
The compost is a wheat straw based compost the start was 5 bales for wheat straw mixed with about 100 pounds of horse dung.
then we added rape seed, peats moss, urea gypsom, water the whole process took 35 days to complete.
After it was complete we started to pasturize it and bag it up for sale.
We had been posting pics before our house was broken into and I have asked that he not post pics or advertise as much.
The only one to post results beside dimitri was ralphster44 he said it was great stuff. We use it still and have great results off of 5-7 pounds we get about 80 dry grams first flush give or take 10 grams.
The compost is almost gone and it is to cold to make more this time of year (winter in the north)
So we have 100 pounds left and no one has said anything bad and several have used it.
If you need more info you will have to wait until d get's home tomorrow.

sounds like a winning formula(although I can't help but chuckle everytime I buy rape seed), and the timeline is pretty good (35 days seems a little long, but I guess it depends on weather & stuff).
Has it been sitting around for long?
" I will do the best I can with the description dimitri is out for a bit."
So, who are you, partner, roomate?
sorry to hear about the house. I hate theives with a passion. If you find them, lemme know, we'll......well, you know what we'll do.

Has it been sitting around for long? Not for to long about 80 days or so.
" I will do the best I can with the description dimitri is out for a bit."
So, who are you, partner, roomate?
I am his girlfriend of 5 years and 1 1/2 kids I had to sit and smell it everytime he turned the huge pile it would take about 4 hours to do it all. then watering it etc...
And it wasn't the fact of what was taken (we can and or did replace that stuff) but the fact that I felt violated.
We had a cool end of the year and it took a little longer to heat up and some other things I remember him bellowing about.

I bought my own home...and I went and got a serious Alarm system.
Sorry you had to go through that.
My condolances.

I am growing in my college dorm. Does the compost smell at all? If It does, how can I mask it? It is shipped discretely?
Thanks

Hardly any smell to it..other then smelling kinda like dirt. If it did smell like shit then the compost would be worthless. The package came in a regularPriority mail box..very descret.
