but why he did end up in this position of question answer spirtual teacher type thing then? are you suggesting he is a total fraud? if all he wants is social contact why not gives his views on other things? if you read his life story he doesnt seem like much of attention seeker. i believe he spent a good amount of time wandering around aimlessly/.

No I'm not suggesting he's a total fraud. Just a little bit more aware than the average. So people flock to him.
It's like Eckart Tolle, He seemed to have an awakening and wrote an impressive book called the Power of Now. Then people flocked around and he got to do lectures and such. Now it costs $300 to attend a little lecture and he is putting out book after book that says poorly the same thing his first book said.
Fact is no matter what we stay human. Look at all the people that follow TV Evangelists. Go figure.

yes , people flock to him. i'm just saying i think his teaching is a crappy one. basically all his teachings can be summed up by "i cant help you, you have to help yourself" but if all his teachings can be summed by that then why does he bother with the others? its contradicts his notion that all philosophy is useless. why do we even bother to read it? as long as know that only we can help ourselves, then all the rest of his work becomes meaningless and we should not even be discussing it.
i believe that he fails to make explicit the fact that for some people, a spiritual philosophy can be a starting point for understanding this. yet he must know this or simply wouldn't provide any philosophical musings. basically i think his teachings are too self contradictory and he doesn't make enough of an effort to resolve these glaring contradictions.

Look he's just giving his speal. I don't think his teaching is crappy, it's his personality and ego hangups that are crappy.
In the end it doesn't matter what he does or doesn't say. It's all about personal power and impeccability in each individual.
Guys like him are not rare, he's just put together his version of everything he's heard and experienced and is selling it because he thinks this makes him special, IMO. Like I said I agree with a lot of what he's saying but I'm not impressed.

like this,
"you have to help your self, meantime have a peek at this, hmmm?"
the peaks offered are motivators.
that is called sharing form a vantage point. a vision can be shared to a small degree, but the student has to want to get it himself.
very same thing applies in buddhism etc. some roshi's even use a painful stick, the students love it and hate it, but they keep coming.
there is a hunger.

this is not what he says. he literally says "my teaching is useless to you". he doesn't say having a peak at might be cool for the time being, he says its useless. that is my whole gripe with him.

so it sounds like we pretty much agree. we both agree with much of what he has to say but find nothing impressing about the way he's saying it. he might be good for other people but he is not someone that i personally find particularly helpful or worth reading.

does each person have the buddha nature? does a dog have the buddha nature?
I was really surprised when my meditation teacher would not spend time with my brother whom I dearly wished to be 'informed', 'upgraded', or 'enlightened' by having some exposure to this Ananda Bodhi himself.
Ananda Bodhi (who was my tibetan style meditation teacher) told me to reccommend Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to him, and that killed the whole thing.
well what do you think that whole thing was about anyway?
I am sure it is not a matter of elitism, but it is close to the the matter of does the horse want a drink, and what effort is it to lead it to unwanted waters.

lol, that is exactly how i feel. while most spiritual teachers seem to paint life in a somewhat optimistic or positive sense and emphasize the wondrous nature of reality and enlightenment, kristamurty seems to do his damndest to do exactly the opposite.
