What do you think of this substrate idea??

A while ago I had a DB kit go sour on me and I dumped the mostly colonized poop outside in my flower garden.
The soil in my garden is the expensive planting mix.

I was thinking about simply filling a few jars with this dirt/compost misture - maybe adding a touch of verm. and a little water and PC'ing the jars. Then innoculate as usual.

Can anyone see problems with this? Would PC'ing the substrate be sufficient to sterlize it? How about some ideas on water ratio? (using 1/2 pint jars, btw...)

I also considered using the soil/compost mixture as a casing layer on OT straw tek.... - I could pasteurize the stuff on the stovetop.

I guess im not yet in a position to give advice, hence im awaiting my first flush, But if I were to wait like 2 weeks+ for jars to colonize, id spend the dollar and buy a bag of brown rice or another proven way.

Than again if you have an ongoing grow system, and doing this for experimentation and your not depending on the crop, hell id say experiment away.. Ive seen carzier things in my life
