i have a toshiba gigabeat and i am trying to figure out how i can run it through my car stereo, it's a pioneer premier deh-p430.
been checking everywhere under the sun online/offline for adapters for this sort of thing but i haven't been able to find a single one. i'm guessing i'll have to remove the stereo in order to wire in an adapter or something to that extent.. just wondering if anyone has any knowledge/experience with this sort of thing.

After googling deh-p430, I found this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/manual/display/0,,2076_15221_49737,00.HTML,,2076_15221_49737,00.HTML clicked on the owners manual used a bugmenot login Page 44: "An IP-BUS-RCA-Interconnector such as CD-RB20 or CD-RB10 (sold separately) enables you to connect this product to auxiliary equipment featuring an RCA output. For more details, refer to the IP-BUS-RCA Interconnector’s Owner’s Manual." Googled CD-RB20, and crutchfield has it.
Took about a minute to find it.
I'll assume that gigabeat has 1/8 inch jack. You can get an 1/8 jack to RCA at radio shack. It doesn't look like the setup will be pretty, but it will work.

yeah go to staples and go to there ipod section and look at there adapters. they got one that works on pretty much anything with a headphone plug but it doesn't come with a charger adapter so u have to buy it separately which might the one i have might not work on your mp3 player. i think its called the benzo 2 FM radio somethin or other. its in the car to lazy to look. ill post the name next time i get back from driving somewhere

thanks guys..
daussaulit: thanks a LOT for all that info, i looked up a lot of stuff like that too (including googling the model of my stereo, etc) but the numbers/jargon get me confused. i'm guessing that, being a beginner at this sort of thing, i'm going to need someone's help to remove the stereo and install the adapter.
i could probably mount the box under the cd player, i have a nice little empty space that would work decently.

my advice to is avoid fm transmitters - they provide the worst (out of the possible options) audio quality. the 2nd best is just a tape deck adapter, but you probably dont have a tape deck. the 1st and best option is to hook up your player to your head unit thru an aux. input. if your headunit does not come with one, there are modifications that you can purchase & install....basically it would be a small unobtrusive input jack that would come out from the back of the headunit.
you'll have to look around the net for a kit...I think what daussaulit linked to is what I'm talking about (link is dead).

just google "deh-p430" and click I'm feeling lucky.
Pioneer CD-RB10. This is what he needs.
Then get one of these bitches from radioshack. 1/8" stereo plug to RCA.
