Screwing DVDs Over

Does anybody know how i can fuck up a DVD without making any marks or anything on it? I ordered a DVD and it fucking sucks and i want my money back, but once it's been opened the supplier wont refund or replace it unless it's faulty. So i wanna make it faulty. But i cant just go scratching it up cuz that would obviously be my fault and i wouldn't get a refund...
Would perhaps a strong magnet work or something?

I'm not certain what actual temperature would be necessary or if that temperature would cause visible deformation but the dye that the information is burned onto is altered by heat. That is, in essence, how the information came to exist on the foil sheet to begin with. So.... one should be able to get the entire surface of the disk to be essentially the same logic state by heating the whole disk to some critical temperature.
My only other thought would be to hack up a DVD burning software/firmware(?) to ignore what media is in the drive and proceed to burn a dummy file onto a ROM disc. This, again, would just be heating the whole of the disk to some critical temperature.

I mean, are they even going to check to see if the dvd plays? why not just claim the dvd is faulty even if it isnt?

Don't they just give you the same DVD if you return a faulty one?
