Important questions! Please help!!

I just found and picked a bunch ofmushrooms that I believe to be Gymnopilus spectabilis (Big Laughing Gym). I'm not sure though and I need some help identifying them. They resemble the pictures here

I live in what's considered northern California, but it's only slightly in the northern area. I found these (a bunch of patches) growing right at the base of oak trees. They resemble the Gymnopilus spectabilis that erowid has showed me, but it is really hard to find information about this species for some reason. One thing that bugs me about them is their size. They are very large with very thick stalks.

If you have any information on these mushrooms or if you can help me out in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if these were poisonous, how much would I have to eat before I were to get sick?

I wouldnt waste my time with these. If im not mistaken these are very low in potency. Certain poisonus shroomz can be fatal at very low dosages, make sure u know ur shit! If u still want to try these post some pics and get them ID, or better yet go to a college or something and get a mycologist to check em' out.
Dont kill urself! Or puke and piss from the ass simutaniously(sp) for a week!
