How would this compare to using a black hefty bag?

I am about to go along with another mono-tub setup and was planning on using a black bag for the lining, you think it might be worth it to replace that with foil? Perhaps both?

If light can shine through the tub, an opaque liner is a must.
Substrate will not adhere to plastic, like it does A/foil.

It eats through the tin foil just a little, but only a few holes here and there, doesnt matter really though.

Great idea

Plus you don't have to clean the trays so much. Just take out the foil/substrate and throw it away when its done.

We'll never catch up. Every time I think I'm up to speed, Agar pulls another new trick, tek, or must-have item out of his ass. Can we make a special "10" rating for this guy?

For years, I have seen folks do bulk grows in bare aluminum trays.
I just examined one & it has no coating - of any sort.

It's coated with Al2O3. If you really wanted to remove it, although I don't see why as it would just oxidize immediately and either rust or form Al2O3 again, you could boil the trays/foil in some water with HgCl(2?). It does have a coating, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
