Dangerous foods?

Hi, this is my first post and I hope that this is not an pointless topic, but some friends and I were thinking about going on our first trip soon (to celebrate the end of the semester, heh). We wanted to get some background information beforehand (not to say that we haven't all done a fair amount of research in the subject), to be responsible and whatnot. My question is that since I have heard that lemon and/or lime juice can be used as a MAOI (and since money is a little tight, we want to get the biggest bang for our buck) I was wondering if eating any particular foods during the trip with said MAOI would potentially be dangerous? After a long search, I finally found some information (thanks to shroomery.org ) and it gave a list of dangerous foods, but also said that it's only something to worry about in extreme cases. Please help, all you wonderful shroomers!

Im trying to understand what your asking....YOu want to know what foods are dangerous to eat during or before a trip while an MAOI is involved. OR you want to know what foods contain MAOI's? For one, as long as psychostimulants (MDMA, Amps etc...) are not involved, there is no apparent danger with combining psychedelics with MAOI's. It has been known to potentiate the effects---true, but the increase is very miniscule in the scope of the experience. Second, the prescence in these citrus fruits you speak of are pretty insignifacnt sources of MAOI's---if thats the combo your looking for. However, I suggest you look at these 2 threads:

There is some type of reaction that lemons and limes has with psychedelics but you have to ingest using the technique from those threads. Its still in the theory stages but I think there is more than an MAOI involved.
---there is nothing you can eat (that is edible under normal circumstances) that will be physicaly dangerous while on psychedelics but your not gonna be hungry or have any inclination to eat anyways. NOt sure if that answered your questions.

Thanks for the reply. I was, indeed, asking if any foods would be dangerous while tripping, particularly if a MAOI is involved. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to get ahold of anything stronger than the citrus fruit for anything resembling a MAOI (then again we may not want to for the first trip) so no particular questions about that yet. Your reply did clear-up the issue and thanks for the info.
