quinoa question...

I've got some quinoa, some millet, some brown rice, and some BRF. I'd like to make a substrate with these ingredients (or some combination therof). I've searched for posts on this, and found lots of info about using quinoa flour, but relatively little info about the whole grain.
My specific questions: has anyone tried a combo similar to this? Is there any reason this wouldn't work? Do the millet and quinoa need to be cooked (or steeped) prior to sterilizing? How about the brown rice if it is mixed? I've had great luck growing mycelium in uncooked brown rice (1/2 cup uncooked rice with 1/4 cup water, autoclave at 121C, 15psi, for 45min). Is it a bad idea to toss all the ingredients in the jars with water and just autoclave?
I'll add vermiculite to the mix to keep it airy.
Thanks for any input....

Hey man, you should check out Alien's Substrate...off the top of my head it involves quinoa, brown rice, flax seed, vermiculite, and finch seed. I tried it in my cake days and it was great.. colonizes quite fast and produces some potent fruits.
Although I tried a search for it and it appears his website is down...so I dont know...maybe the recipe will show up somewhere.....somehow....

Grind your quinoa in a coffee grinder and use it in replacement of equal parts brf, same w/ millet. PM Azurepower he has been using a similar tech w/ awesome results. I think Azurescen has been using quinoa for three years now, he might have some good info for you also.

I once read that Quinoa (KEEN-WA) is 10 times as nutrient as BRF. So i blended whole quinoa mixed it the PF style with verm, and had awesome results! My jars were kept at 82-83 degrees and i had some 1/2 pint jars fully colonized in 7-8 days NO JOKE! The quinoa also mixes up so much better than Brown Fuckin Rice, it comes out real fluffy and airy so the mycelium eats it all up very fast! I also tried using bird seed flour/quinoa flour/verm and this came out very good also so give it a try! I myself like the Quinoa/Verm for PF style cakes, i had some contams with the bird seed mix but that could be a # of reasons, maybe a bad syringe or i should of steeped the bird seed first.
