B+
    #515324 - 01/09/02 11:11 AM (23 years, 2 months ago)

Has anyone had any trouble with the B+. Is it a good strain for a beginner? I hear it isn't too hard to get them to fruit, I'll be using the PF-Tek.

Thanks!

I am a rookie at this too. I was told that B+ and Eq's were the easiest. I messed up and bought a few Peurto Rican syringes which I was told were easy but hard to fruit.

I tried eq's and b+ first. They were both fairly easy to fruit and gave me some nice flushes. I would recommend cold shocking the eq's - I had a lot of trouble getting my first batch to pin. On the 2nd and 3rd set of eq jars, I cold shocked half of each batch before birth. The shocked jars definitely fruited faster, both times, all other variables equal. I have also had great success with Ralph's Pes Hawaiian - I thought the cakes would never die.

i'm growing with b+ for the first time and i'm sorry but these mf are a bitch. they colonize slow as hell and i've lost several casings to cobweb mold directly related to slow colonization time. BUT...
i've been told they are worth the wait because the trip is great sooooooo......
and i don't mean to discourage you because this is only my personal experience with them and i could be doing something completely wrong, i'm also growing on dung for the first time too, so there are a lot of factors that could be causing my troubles, but i would have to say...

B+ is a nice strain to work with. I do not experience slow colonisation. My recent B+ jars colonised faster than my Koh Samui which is considered a fast coloniser. Much of the speed factor is due to environment and proper substrate balance. If all goes right one could go from spores to fruits in 20-30 days w/ B+. I had some jars that took 20 days to colonise due to some incubator problems. Even with the slow colonisation and problems I experienced no contamination. Contamination is oft due to poor preparation or unclean environment. The trip on B+ is excellent from my experiences, heck I might even trip on them tomorrow.

The B+ really is a great strain. Boy, talk about numerous pinsets! The trip from a B+ imo is an A+.
