Here's a new one...

OK...I had these 2 jars that were almost completely colonized...I flipped them to help force out the co2 and set them back in the incubator...Then I forgot about them for a few weeks...OOOPS!!!

The cakes are fine, more than ready to be birthed...My question is:

Which side is up???
If I'm growing from the cakes, which side do I use as the bottom...The original bottom, or the original top which is now the new bottom???

It doesnt really matter, but if you put the side facing the lid up, you will have more growing area. Not a ton, but thats what i do *shrugs*

I remember reading something about the orientation of the mycellial growth, having an affect on the growth of it's fruit, making it necessary to place the cake in the same position it was colonized in.

That?s bullshit.
Mycelium grows in all directions.
The fruits grow towards the light and as a minor factor against the gravity force.
Flip the jar, so that the original top is at the bottom at the end.
Then you don?t have to handle the cake with your hands.
But it soesn?t really matter. Just do what?s easyer.
