humidity in colonization?
    #514860 - 01/08/02 11:13 PM (16 years, 7 months ago)

ok i have the terrarium inside a glovebox. the digital therm/hygro on the top of the terrarium (inside the glovebox) is reading 62% humidity 82F temp. the perlite is underneath the grow mix un the terrarium. Does this mean i need more humditiy or is it humid enough down in the colonizing tray. i'm thinkin since the tterrarium is open at top the humidity is escaping, but it should be ok at the bottom right?, in the colonizing mix i mean.

I suggest streaching some Saran Wrap over the top of your treearium and poking about 20 holes in it with a toothpick. This will keep your humidity high and let your mycelium breathe at the same time.

i have a comp fan blowing in air from a air pump at the end of the hose form the air pump i have a filter then after the filter i have the fan suckin in the air cirulating it around the glovebox at the opposite end of the fan entry i have a hole coverd with 2 filter discs. then i have like 1 1/2 " of perlite on the bottom (the perlite is soaked in water) now i have the temp at 81 and the humidity % went up to 81 also. is this a good setup to keep the humidity at a cruisin 90%?!?!? also it was sitten at like 55 60% humidity for like the past 4 days would that effect anything like kill the spores or anything evil like that?
for now i hope my prob is solved what chall think?
