hey, i noticed ralph mentioning in a locked thread about the South American strain carried by sporechicks.
it really is a great strain, i recently grew out a batch that was very impressive, enough so that i made special efforts to get several prints for posterity.
another nice feature is that it pinned and grew very well invitro,
as well as the normal pf cake method.
it's definitly worthwhile to bring this great strain back onto the marketplace for all to enjoy.

People are always looking something new mcman. Many have already grown Eqs and B+ and have prints for a lifetime.
I don't see where the chix SA could be considered an 'old strain'. They've only been around 3 or 4 years.

the sa's are some of the prettiest ive seen. nipples and everything- its just too bad sporechicks cant be ordered from reliably anymore. they are not tempermental, and leave the beautiful veil on the stalk as well... can get medium-large easily when casing... id post old pics hongus and i posted (seperately) of sa's from a few months back, but the old uploads are bad now :( trust me jim, very pretty- more demure than eq's with a bigger nipple! tie between them and the mexi-cubs for best looking cube.

Point is mcman, telling people to stick with the old strains is wrong, there are many new discoveries down the road waiting to be found. Besides, the Matias Romero is the oldest strain, pf's original and look how it's mutated. i've heard lots of bad reports about the eqs as well. You must be prepared to discard the old eventually and bring in the new. That is how life works.
The Tasmanian and Palanque have both been around a while and most of those other strains originated from mjshroomer. It would be nice to see some of these new 'vendors' bring some new strains, not just recycle the work of others. That shows they are just in it for the buck.

Its a moot point. The older strains that are still around are the ones that have stood the test of time. No doubt many of todays newer stains will fade out and only the better ones will last.

the caps on mine seemed darker than most other strains,
anyone else notice this ?
on the strains issue, i think the market just got saturated, for awhile there were just so many new strains coming out, that many worthy ones got bypassed by most growers in favor of the more popular 'flavor-of-the-month.
now it's time to revisit some of the less popular strains that really merit more attention than they got.

Hey hippie, remember back in the day before the hippie invitro tek? I was doing some work on colonizing cakes in light instead of darkness? SA's were one of the first strains I used in my tests. I found that they pinned as quickly invitro as anything else.
Grown under more traditional conditions, they are a great strain. The caps do seem darker, but grown invitro this darkness was even more pronounced. They seemed to be evenly distributed across the casing, not fruiting in clumps as much as some strains do. And aside from the GT, I think they are they heavyest spore depositor I've ever seen.

this is why i like those mushrooms.
they are my favorite because until this day i have not found another that i like as much... in beauty and psychology.
 
i came across them thru the fsr. some of the caps (especially of the second flush) had pointy caps... similar to the plantasia, but diferent.

Hawk, dude, what's your deal? I would expect a post like that to come from capn max or somebody, not you. I may have misread the sign on the door, but I think it said "SA's from sporechicks". Then you write a novel of a very sugarcoated attack on a member (H3) and a not so sugar coated attack on another (MM). A 3 word comment about the subject at hand and a whole bunch of crap.
Hippie certainly didn't deserve the attack, although it was somewhat sugarcoated, but he took it in stride. Hopefully his restrained reply will be enough for you to not antagonize anything, because you know that it won't be too difficult to get started again. As for McMan....who cares? I guess that since the discussion was about how good a strain is that you don't have, you had to digress.
And that shit about if he cared about mushrooms, he'd stop posting on a board that you read! That's so full of shit, you could grow pans on it.

I like Ryche Hawk, I like Mycotek. Ryche I've ordered from you, and have been impressed by the speed in which my order was sent, and the spores I received were clean and viable. Mycotek, I have had delightful experiences when I've done business with you as well. Man have you been helpful in the cult. forums around here lately, and I'm super proud to have your TEKs on "The Little Guy" site. So I guess what I'm saying is, we don't need to choose which vendor we like better, it is possible to like both. I do. I hope that one day, we can all forgive each other for how one or all of us has acted in the past, and in doing so, put an end to these immature vendor wars.

so, with all the talkup on this strain, i hope it will not be lost on people who read this thread that there have been several months of complaints regarding the vendor who puts them out- the sporechicks... and that not one chick has surfaced in quite a while to address the issues of no orders, contam'd orders, and the phantom "threat" someone posted a while back that the "chicks were being watched". so... as nice as the SA's are (2d/3d place tie for me- i liked the puertos and mexis more), i think something needs to be said about the chicks and their business. everyone's been sidestepping the issue for a LONG TIME now, and even i have told newbies who didnt get their orders to be patient and wait some more, but its something that needs to be done (esp. in light of this thread and the publicity it will no doubt increase for the strain and the only vendor to carry it...)
and, back in the day when i did have 1sthand knowledge of the chick's product, they were topnotch and i had no complaints then... but its been several months and i dont like seeing newbies ripped off. they havent posted in 3+ months now, and have not addressed the fact that money is being sent but no orders are being filled. i dont think its right, and i think someone should say so.
so i did. la la la.
(and this is not a flame, it is a legitimate complaint that i think has not been taken seriously since they used to be something special. i welcome comments and such to my post, and have no personal animosity towards any vendor, including the chicks.)

well said ralph! The family is doing great, thanks for asking. Unfortunately, no I haven't reconsidered my non-cultivating status. It's just not worth it with the family and all. A lot of people try and forget the consequences of their actions, hoping that they'll never have to face them, or justify it by saying that the consequences aren't fair in the first place. That used to be me, when I only had myself to consider. Now there is just too much on the line to be naive.
I just like to keep up with the community, offer some when I can etc. I have a friend who supplies some fruit when I need some in exchange for my expertise and advice. I especially like the vendor forum, it seems to be the heartbeat of this place these days.

I should not even of brought up the old days when we use to all fight. I was a little drunk the other night when I posted that and I know better then to get on here when I'm drunk because I might say something I regret or dont mean. I thought about that the next day, the fact that Hippie3 has not been around here instigating any trouble in a very long time. And I was asking myself all day yesterday "why did I bring that up.." . My anger and frustration is with McMan, and yet I vented some of that your direction from past issues .....way way past issues, very old issues now ...and that was wrong of me. It was not necessary and uncalled for and I apologize.
