Getting rid of Moldy Smells

I had some contam grows that were in my fruiting bins. I threw away the bad casings and then washed the fruiting bins thoroughly in the bathtub with detergent and water, and sprayed with lysol and rubbed with alcohol and rinsed. Now a day later I opened the tub and it still smelled a little funny! Is this remaining odor a sign of remaining mold, or simply odor? Would it be safe to put casings in there now? I don't know what else I can do to clean it out.
Similarly, I had some moldy bread in a cupboard, which I threw away a month ago, and I sprayed in there with lysol, but the smell still won't go away, and I don't know if that means there's still mold spores in there...
Thanks. I just want to know if it would be safe to put some casings in the tubs despite the odd odor.

After a cleaning like that I would say you're good to go

I would give it one more wipe with alcohol. Just to be safe. Why put all that time and effort if you think even maybe you still have mold spores in there. GL

You sure you didn't accidentally spray some lysol up nose?

That's my motto!
Thanks for the reassurance. I guess I don't understand why it would still have a strange smell.
And I'm still worried about the cupboard with the definite mold smell. It's right under the counter where I do a lot of my mushroom work. Other than spraying lysol in there, I don't know what else I could do. Is it possible for a moldy smell to exist without any actually live spores?

lol, maybe its just a weird mix of the chemicals that you used and it created a funky smell. It could be that you are just smelling the burned hairs in your nose also=)

Kind of like Tupperware that you keep re-heating pasta in. That pasta sauce smell never seems to disappear. No matter how hard you scrub it.

Very true, very true. So I guess that makes odors existing without spores feasible.

Try Oust. I've been using it for months. Its like 3 bucks and lasts a long time. Get the unscented flavor, you'll regret if you dont.
