5.8 Quart PC... big enough?
    #513660 - 01/07/02 08:20 PM (22 years, 1 month ago)

I was just in a London Drugs and saw a 5.8 quart PC for $50. (can.) While I'm not really in the market for a PC I was intrigued nonetheless. Is 5.8 quart big enough? I get the feeling that it's a little small (5.8 doesn't sound that big.)
$50 though. Not too bad.

Ok, that didn't really make as much sense as I thought it did.
Here's a better question: Would a 5.8 quart PC be a wast of money? Is it too small to be practical?

Well, whatever. I tried.

well it might slow you down some, but if you have the time to do only a few jars at a time then go for it.

Check out eBay. I bought a 3 1/2 quart PC for $3.75 and
shipping was about $6. It's just big enough for four half
pints and the rack that holds them off the bottom so, twelve
jars takes 3 runs. Beats the hell out of not havin a PC. I just
found out yesterday that Wal-Mart and K-mart both have
five quart PC's for $19.99 You can probably check them
out online (walmart.com & bigkmart.com). Ebay also has
digital PC's(new) that end around 50 bucks. I guess it's
like my dad used to say. "Poor people have poor ways"
and I like to save all I can! Hope that helps. Peace

You can get one much cheaper.
I bought a 12 quart for $31.00 at a senior center...new.
Or you can buy a bigger one.....like a 21 quart for $119.00
Shop around.....Thrift stores might be the ticket.

Thanks everybody! I wasn't really looking for one until today, now I feel like I should have one. I'll set my sights on something bigger.
