The fight for survival!
    #513648 - 01/07/02 10:08 PM (15 years, 7 months ago)

As I was Mixing up my batch of Vermiculite anb BRF i found myself short one jar of vermiculite. Being broke, lazy, and a bit curious I decided to mix BRF with my potting soil plus. I sterlized and inoculated and today the 21st day of incubation, 4 of the 8 jars look good, 2 had cobweb and I tossed out, 1 shows almost no growth and the other(the one I experiemented with potting soil plus) is the reason for this post.
The mycelium growth is just below the four holes where I injected them from. The gaps inbetween the the mycelium growth are growing cobweb mold. Im wondering if the mycelium will put up a fight and eventually kill off the cobweb or if its too late. the mycelium looks a hole lot more healthy and there is more of it but the cobweb mold is still there. Any comments? Suggestion?

Try spraying with peroxide a few times before the cobweb gets established. If you dont catch it quick cobweb will take over.

Okay, spraying you mean after I birth the cakes. Right now their still in the jars. Or should I birth it now and spray it?
