Is "Don't be scared" really good advice in a state known to crack down on shroom hunters?

It would be nice if you had your own cow fields, or if you knew a farmer who gave permission for you to hunt on his land.

I found a couple around Crescent city Florida. I didn't have much luck; Mosquitoes were thick.
I never hunted in south-florida; now would be a good time of year if the mosquitoes were not so bad.

What is the legality I wonder of processing cow-patties into bricks to be sent thru the mail; Could shrooms really be grown this way?

MJ i love your work.

but...

I took 3 patties home from the feild i hunted in the summer and left it in a fishtank covered with plastic wrap. Added perlite rocks (thanx ryan!) and after a little while i rememer 5 nice sized shrooms off of the 3 patties.

The point is the patty you choose must already have mycelium unless your going to literally spore print your shit.
And the method does not yeild large quantaties vs. growing them off of a rice cake in a controlled environement.

anyhow, hope this knowledge helps you hunt2much
and watch your ass its a felony

You're on the cutting edge of developing another farm product for Florida.

i have been taking pin and myc-covered patties from my field and putting them in a dual-chambered terrrarium for quite some time, and it is working well. hunt2much try to find a cap that has just opened for the most spores. and yes, cubes are still poppin in my field here in SC

thanks cubensiscutter been reading your post for a minute really like them all yes but how do i get the spores from the cap? oh and i barely find more than 2 caps in each pattire this late in the season and normaly dont find that many maybe like 12 in an hour is normaly doing pretty good thats plenty nuff for me any hunting tips? for winter from one shroomer to another i find most of my winter caps by the fences and dont run pass larger piles of grass without looking over it from above

i find all mine in the woods. it is pretty cold up here in SC and there has been lots of frost so i havent even checked the field in about a month. but in the field i hunt there is about 8 acres of hevaily wooded area back in the woods where the cows can graze and chill. i rarely leave my field this late in the year with less than 100. if there is a spot where you hunt where the cows can chill in the woods i highly reccomend you check in there. During the summer and fall i find alot of big mofos hidden in the high grass. you should find some there if it is still warm in FL to get the spores from the cap, make a spore print...cut the stem as close you can to the cap and lay the cap on a piece of clean tin foil. put a glass jar over the cap and let it sit for 24 hours. remove the jar and cap and there will be a spore print on the foil.

yeah it is superizing but on the southwest coast of Florida the Copelandias will grow well in the wintertime

its very surprising what you can find in the wintertime,
you just have to look in the right spots and at the right time.

yeah, they're out.. just gotta look right
on an average winter, i can usually get atleast one cube on any given hunt.  i mean unless it's been bone dry, something's usually always out...

if yall are in south florida, i would like to know how you guys are finding shrooms. It has been dry for almost two weeks now with barley a drop of rain.

if you could put the general location where you are finding these cubes i would like to know. ex. south fl, central fl, or N.fl

i use a dual chambered terrarium with my cow patties and as of right now there are about 70 cubes on it, starting with only 6 pins when i took it home and the myc continues to take over. aslo there is grass growing out of the patty everywhere and there wasnt any grass when i took it home. it looks pretty sweet all those cubes and surrounded by grass. Shouldnt flordia have cubes everywhere. if i can find them in SC they have to be in FL

yea cubecutter its all in the dew man it hasent rained here in like 2 weeks but there are 2 small ponds on the field that do the field fine and on some nights the fog gets so thick you cant see you face infront of yourface and you walk out of the field wet......ok i normal just pull shrooms strait up and by you name and a few pictures ive seen should i cut the base of the stem with some scirors? so i dont disturb the pattie? oh yea the patties i took have myc is starting to get larger and larger

yes ALWAYS CUT THE STEMS NEVER PULL THEM FROM THE POO, this will damagew the myc and prevent further growth for others to enjoy. i susally give them a good flicking to knock as much spores down as i can before i clip\

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN PULL A SHROOM OUT OF A PATTY, IT IS AGAINST THE CUBENSIS CODE

bringing scissors to the field is just as important as wearing clothes when you hunt, never go without them, but if you find yourself w/o scissors, you can always rip or break the stem w/ your hands, above the poop of course making sure not to disturb and myc. it is very frustrating for others to run up on what could be a beatuiful patty with nice specimens but instead they just find holes ripped in the manure from ignorant people not knowing what htyere doing

Cubensis cutter - it doesn't really effect the mycelium that much if you pull a mushroom out and leave an exposed patch. If anything, sometimes this can engourage new pinning by changing the micro-climate a little.

But, you get a LOT less shit on your mushrooms if you cut them before collecting.... And this saves a lot of time cleaning when you get home.

ive never been let down on a hunt in florida. i lived about midstate and most of the farmers if they even saw you out in their field would just tell you not to spook his animals or come by his house other than that they mostly diddnt give a shit what you did.

Here where I live, the farmers hate shroomers. I have yet to meet a farmer who didnt care if people(especially shroomers) were on their field.
They wouldnt mind unloading a couple salt bags in your ass if they had the chance.

i know of one farmer who sits on his porch and laughs at shroomers. i have heard of others who are said to 'shoot on sight' (although i highly doubt it but i guess it is possible in some bumfuck areas)

I pay $2 a day to fish in the ponds in my cow field. I just walk from pond to pond picking shrooms and every now and then make a cast or two. I even catch a fish every now and then. :salmon:

:jiggly:
Just because I like it

I live in Lutz its around Mid. Florida, and im havin trouble finding cubies, this would be my first time hunting and I know what to look for I've been educating myself for the past week (thanks to Shroomery) on everything. And now im more hyped up than ever to find my first patch. Living in Lutz we have a couple cow fields relatively close but most of them come right off a main road, and the one thats closest to me, about 5 mins away (walking) has just been wiped out and is being replaced with housing. Pretty lame I know. I noticed they just recently moved a herd of bulls by another main road around here, but I dont think I want to fuck around with 10-12 bulls.. Haha. Everything around here is right by a main road, guess im just going to have to wait for the weekend to really go hunting, just really don't want to get caught, since they have been cracking down, and if you apply light you would be able to see me from the road.

I would try to cultivate my own but privacy is hard when your 17 and still living with your parents.

Anyone else live close to me who has gotten anything lately?
