problematic Puerto Ricans
    #512725 - 01/06/02 11:24 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

Within the last month and a half I've been doing alot of work with the Puerto Rican strain and am somewhat baffled by the resultsI've been getting.

About 3 weeks ago the first casings, straw and manure teks started to pin and damb was I impressed. Hundreds of pins everywhere and very few abhorts. I thought to myself whos the man............. as I was expecting some huge yeilds.

My confedince continued to gleam until it was more than apperant that my babies weren't doing as well as I would of liked them to be. After about 2 to 3 inches they grew no taller, got no fatter than a pencil and started to sporulate very early.

I immedietly became concerned and started working toward fixing the problem by creating different conditions for all of them in an attemp to find out exactly what if was that they liked, and didn't like but found no resonable explanation for the undesirable growth pattens.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has come across any problems like this with Puerto's and if so what steps did you take to correct the problem?

Thanks much, Hollywood

Ive also had this problem with puertos, but im suspecting its due to a dry substrate. After next flush you should try to rehydrate your substrate somehow.
