I was reading the psychedelics and enlightenment thread and someone mentioned psychedelic literature. It got me thinking. Thats a good name for the genre of books Ive been reading and want to read. Ive read some Aldous Huxley and Leary... but I want more. What are some other books regaurding psychedelics, enlightenment and the like?

One of my favorites is Huxley's Doors of Perseption... I fell in love with that book the first time I read it. Are there others that could be considered its equal? (in quality... not nessicarily substance)

Speaking of Paul Krassner, I ran across this web site that has his article My Acid Trip with Groucho. Is this the style of the rest of Krassner's writing? If everything else he writes is this entertaining, I'll definately have to check him out.

Krassner didn't write the whole book, I should have mentioned that. He edited it. He wrote the Introduction and some of the trip tales. Trip tales are written by some notorious others like Ken Kesey, Wavy Gravy, Jerry Hopkins, etc. Krassner writes a lot of them. It's really entertaining.

My favorite of the books i've read so far is the one I link below, Storming Heaven. I don't know how anyone could do a better job than Stevens did on that book. It's extremely well researched. Must have taken forever. You could always read Terence Mckenna, Alan Watts, "Acid Dreams" by Martin A. Lee is a book i've been wanting to read(i'll bet it's probably second best to Storming Heaven).

Yeah, I wouldn't mind reading" my problem child". I'm not going to read it online though. I wouldn't mind reading that book about K, but it would probably just make me want to do it really bad. I'd spend money I should spend buying some.
