Cubenisseur:

It's well known that many foods other than Turkey have tryptamine.

Milk is one of them in fact.

Thank you for that link. I remain skeptical, but I see where you derive your thinking. It would be nice to know what studies showed T and 5HT in tomato and barley. It's too bad there is no author or publication information listed on that page. It seems like one of those ancient OCR'd texts from the early days of the net. Its also a little odd that tomato and barley are listed, while all other species are indicated by their latin binomials (including Pisum sativum, AKA peas).

Keep in mind this list says nothing about what PART of the plant contains the putative alkaloids.

I forget where exactly, but I've read of growers that use tiny ammounts of V8 in their casings. Possibly for the tryptamine, but I know V8 is quite good at adding trace elements.

Just a side note, the pics are the substrate recipe above, but w/wbs instead of popcorn.

The popcorn based batched will be birthed tomorrow.

There was no mention in your tek of when you added the B6(500mg) & L-trytophan(???mg). Also does the corn have to be completely dry or can it be a little wet? How many mg's of L-tryptophan 50mg,100mg or more?? Where did you or can I get the L-trytophan? What is your contam ratio?

Hmm, soy is on the list. When I started with cakes, I couldn't get BRF at first so I bought some rye flour and some soy flour. I was advised not to use the soy... so I didn't. Might make a good additive to PF cakes, sold at the same places that sell BRF.

This has been done before (Gartz 1989) found that psilocybin and psilocin levels were naturally low (.1 to 1%) in mushrooms grown with cow dung and rice (2:1) but he could raise the levels to 3.3% with the addition of 25 mil of tryptamine per 10 grams of substrate.
This study reinforced the concept that substrate composition affects potency.

Out of 10 qt's only 2 survived with this tek. The contams got the others pretty fast. The 2 that made it have very strange myc. I should have taken pix b4 I cased it. It looked liked fireworks inside the jar, very diff to explain it. The rizo looked like it came from individual spores, like a fireworks display. I can wait to see how it yields......
