 how long b 4 ur an alcoholic

how many days can you drink for before you become an alcoholic, ive been drinking for 4 days straight now (even whilst i was ill [well, its christmas, have fun!]), and i fully intend on drinking again tomorrow, d you think theres any chance i might wake up it a day or 2 rattlin for a drink.

I've gone a couple weeks straight and stopped abruptly with no problem.

Psycological addiction is enough. if u drink every day, most would end up needing a drink, i know (in ur context) its not a hardcore addiction, more like a relaxation aid. I dont normally drink for days at a time, only at christmas, but not normally as much as i have this year. ive had it before when ive woke up and ive felt like a drink, n i felt like i was on the edge of something then. some people think it might be a genetic thing.
i just dont wanna b pissed for days n wake up a pisshead. How do u get addicted to alcohol

It also has to do with your genes....Like, if your father was an alcoholic, you have a better chance of becoming one..etc etc..and its goes down the family line.

It's not like there's a certain number of days in a row you drink and then become an alcoholic.
Addiction is about dependence. If you have trouble NOT drinking, then you're looking at addiction.
People with real addictions hear some guy saying "I got drunk 5 days in a row, does that mean I'm an alcoholic now?" and pretty much want to punch that guy in the face for being such a goof. Addictions don't show up after binging for a few days. Addictions happen over the course of a long period of time. When your life revolves around drinking, you're an alcoholic, not if you've spent a week partying.

Word......I get especially pissed when people who smoke pot every day claim to be "addicted". I've gone through hardcore pothead periods......and I've been hooked on opiates, heroin and oxycontin for most of the past 3 years. BIG fucking difference there, extremely big difference. It's like comparing climbing a small hill to climbing Mt. Everest.

In first year Uni I drank every day for a year and still wasn't an alcoholic. It's because I'm not that fond of alcohol.
