Interesting Straw Log Tek

I was browsing around over on Mycotopia, and came upon this grow log and was wondering if anyone had any experience with something like this? I had thought that only gourmet mushies could be grown this way, but apparently someone is trying w/B+? Anyway, I have the following questions:

-Is it necessary to use lime? Will powdered lime from a Mexican Grocery suffice?
-When Fruiting, do you remove the bag? What about light, humidity, and all that?

^^Yep, it's one of the worst buys I have ever made!

Anyway, I think SWIM will run this tek with P.C. Mexicana and see how it goes!

You need Hydrated Lime! It ups the PH level high enough that contamns can't get a foot hold, at least for a few weeks. Also, a bit of bleach on top of that for extra protection.

You leave the bag on, but cut down the middle on top. Open and close it once or twice a day for fresh air exchange. The poly tubing (or whatever it is you decide to use) will provide enough humidity when draped over the log. As far as Light, just the same as casings or cakes (12/12 or whatever you prefer)
