Trying to upload songs on an ipod.

Hello. I bought my girlfriend an ipod for christmas and we are having trouble figuring out how to make itunes recognize a wma file. We ran into this problem at sugarmegs.com. It will play in the media player, but it will not recognize the music, in the itunes. It has us baffled. Any help would be appreciated. I'll check back in a little while.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to the Shroomery!

WMA is not supported. Convert to AAC or MP3.

Sorry, but I am illiterate in this sense. How do I go about doing this converting and which one takes up less space?
Thanks!

Wierd. It says that it's an unrecognized file. The Windows Media Player will play it, but not the itunes. !!!!!

dbpoweramp is a good converter and it is free. iTunes won't convert WMA because they don't have a license from Microsoft. In the future don't deal with vendors who sell wma files as they are usually copy protected. Go to www.allofmp3.com for cheap music in any format you want...no copy protection. Prices runs a nickel a song and they have nearly anything you would want.

Thanks. We have been downloading free shows off of sugarmegs and archive. They aren't copyrighted. We are also trying to convert the files to the format that takes up less space than mp3. I can't remember the name of it, though.

I just select 'Add folder to library', and it does everything for me.
