Cold Shock Q's

Can anyone give me some info on cold shocking. What does it do, how much of a drop for how long etc. The first couple of pins just formed and I'm wondering if I should be cold shocking them before its too late, if its not too late already. Also, I've heard of something called scratching the casing layer. Same questions.

Cold shocking is usually done to help initilize pins.
It can be done by placing a ice pack in your terrarium for 12-24 hours or placing your jars in the fridge for the same amount of time.
It seems you wont be needing it if you've already got pins.
