Should I birth?

I inoculated 4 jars around 2 months (!) ago, and 2 of them completely colonized several days ago. The other two are following suit and should be completed shortly. I've read that I should wait 2 weeks after completion to place them in a terrarium for birthing. But since these took a god-awful long time to colonize, would it be safe/beneficial to go ahead and try birthing them now? Thanks.

If the jars are fully colonized and uncontamined, go ahead and birth them. 2 months!?!?! Bajesus!!! Did you untaped the innoculation holes or fliped the jars ?

I had a Ramsey seal on 1 pint jars and had them high on a shelf in a dark closet for around a month. I took the seal off and placed the jars next to my stereo covered with a bath towel for added warmth, and they took off nicely. Oh well, at least I've learned my lesson!:) Thanks for the reply.

yeah temps were probably a bit low to begin with and the fac tthat they were pints also added to colonization time.
