.bin to DVD??
    #5098848 - 12/23/05 07:36 PM (16 years, 7 months ago)

I'm trying to burn a movie to a DVD for my cousin and I can't figure out how to get 2 .bin files on a DVD so it can be played in a DVD player.

Does anyone know how to do this?

chances are you cant just put them on a dvd and have them work in a standalone player.

you will need to convert them into .mpg files first.

mount the .bin file using alcohol or daemon toolz or something like that, and then look for a file on the mounted image called "AVSEQ.DAT" or something. It will be the biggest file on the entire cd. Copy that file to your harddrive, and rename it to CD#.mpg (replace # with the current volume)

that SHOULD work, but you may also want to goto http://www.vcdeasy.org/ and download that software, and convert the .DAT that you renamed into a true MPEG2 file.

then you can burn those MPEGs to a DVD and they should work.

the .bin is probably accompanied by a .cue file - these are for burning VCDs.

on *nix, it is as simple as

krishna:/media/usbdisk2#cdrdao write --device <device> <filename>.cue

that'll make a VCD that can be played in most newer DVD players...

if you want to burn it to a DVD - well do you even need to? how big is the video file?

Ok, thanks! I'll try that out.
